Who We Are at Schillinger Seed

Dr. John Schillinger—John “retired” from the presidency of Asgrow Seed Co. in 1999 to form Schillinger Seed, Inc. After 32 years in soybean research, John took on the new challenge of breeding Food Grade soybeans designed for the soyfoods market. And John has an eye for proven winners—3127, for example, named “Product of the Decade” in 1992 by US AgriMarketing, is just one variety that John developed. John also founded Heartland Fields, LLC, a predominately farmer-owned soyfoods company in 2000. Managing Heartland Fields has provided John good insight into the specific requirements for soy products for the food industry. John is a graduate of the University of Maryland and holds a PhD in Plant Genetics from Michigan State University.
